Roger Paraselsu Coleman

Roger Coleman is a Principal Minister and a founder of the Church of Iron Oak, ATC in Palm Bay, Florida. Iron Oak is a part of the Aquarian Tabernacle Church, a worldwide Wiccan church based in Index, Washington with member churches in several countries. Roger was ordained as a Third Degree Minister in the Aquarian Tabernacle Church in 1992 and is now the Presiding Elder of the ATC Eastern United States District. In addition to his ministerial training, Roger is also an electronics engineer with forty years experience in aerospace and communications engineering and is the holder of many patents.

In the mid 1990s, Roger and his family were threatened with fines by the city because of their religious belief. Using a combination of speaking engagements and by starting a festival, he and his wife were able to raise awareness of the use of zoning to control religious practice. By the time the issue was resolved, the festival became so popular that he converted the event into a separate twice-a-year festival called the Florida Pagan Gathering. Public interviews by him and his wife provided the local community with the opportunity to better understand Wicca and recognize its emphasis on honoring nature.

Roger is also the Lead Smith of the Guild of Govannan, a grove of smiths who develop techniques of casting and forging athames and other magickal tools. The guild has developed special alloys such as Pink Metal, a special alloy composed of Goddess metals used for Athame blades. Also developed in the guild are microprocessor-controlled wands that are sold in metaphysical stores and programmable staffs that use hypnotic lighting effects under the control of the operator. Other tools include inlayed wood pentagrams and etched sigil metals.
